Sam Bertken (Meekins) (he/him) is an actor, illustrator and playwright from the Bay Area. He has performed as Meekins and a plethora of other characters since the founding of the Peripatetic Players in 2013. When not performing characters, he is an ensemble member of the San Francisco Neo-Futurists, having written, performed and directed countless plays in their flagship production, The Infinite Wrench, in 2019. His writing has also appeared in the San Francisco Olympians Festival, and his short fiction has been heard on the Quarantine Radio Hour. Austine De Los Santos (Lox) (pronounced as Austin. Like that place in Texas. You know the one.) is a non-binary Pilipinx artist in the Bay Area. They also go by Aus, Charming, Hey-You-Stop-That, and their character name, Lox. Along with performing with Peripatetic Players, they have found a real love and joy with dancing, specifically locking. When they’re not performing, they love to look at the sky, make rice, enjoy light jacket weather, and talk to their loved ones.

Chris Hernandez (Dr. Moss) (he/him) is a new member of the Peripatetic Players ensemble! Chris is currently a student at UC Santa Cruz, where he is studying theater and the environment.

Joan Howard (Thumper) (Joan, she, they) is a clown, physical theater creator, and maker-of-objects dedicated to inciting delight and activating meaningful connection through play. Joan is co-creator of the ensemble company Idiot String, and co-director of ClownCorps, a social clowning organization serving communities through laughter relief.  Joan clowns regularly with the Peripatetic Players (Idiot String’s itinerant theater troupe), in hospitals with the Medical Clown Project, and in the streets with ClownCorps. As a builder, Joan blends traditional woodworking skills with DIY aesthetics to create performance objects and mobile environments that partner with their performers and transform everyday public space into participatory worlds where anything might happen.

Rebecca Longworth (Madame Directrix) is a theatre maker dedicated to original ensemble performance. In addition to directing the Peripatetic Players’ shows, she creates original performance with the Hatch Collective. Other directing credits include New Conservatory Theatre Center, Ragged Wing Ensemble, SF Theatre Pub, Boxcar Theatre, Theatre Q, Dragon Productions, El Gato Family Theatre and Jump! Theatre, where she served as artistic director for four years. Rebecca has performed with Ragged Wing Ensemble, We Players, and FoolsFURY, and has also designed motion graphics and projections for Jump! Theatre, Crowded Fire, Custom Made Theatre, and Shotgun Players. Rebecca holds an MA in Text & Performance Studies from King’s College/R.A.D.A. and is a member of the 2009 Lincoln Center Directors Lab. She founded Idiot String with Joan Howard.

Casey Robbins (Samuel Peaches) is ecstatic to be spending the summer with The Peripatetic Players. Not too long ago, Mr. Robbins left the sagebrush and stolen avocados of the Ojai Valley for the lights and fog of San Francisco to begin an exciting career in The Theater! Now wearing hats such as actor, director, composer and teacher, Casey holds a BA in Drama from San Francisco State University, and predominantly creates and inspires at the Spindrift School of Performing Arts in Peaceful Pacifica and the Pied Piper Players in Summery San Mateo. This fall Casey will be directing both Seussical for SSPA and a TBD Turbo Teen production for PPP, as well as performing in the Palo Alto Players’ production of Cylbourne Park. When not creating theater, Mr. Robbins enjoys nature (especially backpacking), jamming, and tennis. He would like to thank this wonderful wonderful group of people for the love, and the laughs; his beautiful parents for being beautiful; and YOU for being here to share the fun!

Soren Santos (Percival Perkins) After several years of enthusiastically attending their shows, Soren Santos is positively plussed to be joining the Peripatetic Players on stage! He is an actor, mover, teacher, and Bay Area native. A graduate of the Claire Trevor School of the Arts at UC Irvine (Honors in Acting, Cum Laude), he has worked locally with several theater companies, including Berkeley Rep, TheatreWorks, Mugwumpin, TheatreFIRST, Shotgun Players, New Conservatory, foolsFURY, Ragged Wing Ensemble, and more. He has also performed nationally with Movement Research (Judson Memorial Church, NYC), Counter-Balance Theater (Edison Theatre, St. Louis, MO), and Rogue Artists Ensemble (Northwest Regional Puppetry Festival, Seattle, WA). Soren was seen in Elevada at Shotgun Players, directed by collaborator Susannah Martin, and will be performing in The Claim (along with Kenny Scott) in the future. Soren is a Mugwumpin company member, and is beyond grateful to call Marlene his other half.

Mayreni Sweis (Admiri) (she/her) hails from the land of the Bay and ventured down to the southern part of California where she received her BFA in Acting for the Stage and Screen 2020 (and an International business degree. . . a well-organized calendar helped). Due to an unforeseeable world event that took everyone by surprise, she found herself back in her childhood bedroom where the inklings of her dreams that took root all those years ago reminded her to always follow her passions! Mayreni continued to dive deeper into her craft by studying with NYU’s Atlantic Acting School and then the American Conservatory of Theater. Along with acting in front of the camera, she loves telling stories on the stage (and in parks!) and is beyond excited to be a part of the Peripatetic Players this season. To learn from and play alongside such talented artists is an honor and to help bring to life this incredible story of adventure, friendship, and resilience! (Thanks Mom and Dad for always supporting me too!)

Marlene Yarosh (Princess Gwen) (she/her) is a performer based out of the East Bay. Originally from Southern California, Marlene attended UC Irvine where she received her B.A. in Drama. Marlene also received a Certificate in Arts Management from UC Irvine, a course taught by the Merage School of Business and Claire Trevor School of the Arts.  After moving to the Bay Area, Marlene has primarily made theatre with the San Francisco Olympians Festival, SF Theatre Pub, and Idiot String & The Peripatetic Players. Marlene is a founding member of the Peripatetic Players and has performed in every summer tour as Princess Gwen, and in every Idiot String production to date.

Kenny Scott (Inspector Quimbley) (He/Him) is an actor based in Oakland, California. He attended Morgan State University, and was a member of the Laney College Fusion Theatre Project. Recent credits include Quantum Dragon Theatre (Ageless), The New Conservatory Theatre Center (Mystery of Love and Sex), The Forum (Sarafael) and Idiot String (Port Stories), Crowded Fire (Inked Baby). Company member with The Oakland Theatre Project (Hamlet, Mother Courage) as well as Shotgun Players (The Claim, The Light).

Paul Eric Collins (Guy Hank) Paul arrived in this wondrous Golden State ten years ago from the mighty shores of the Mississippi (Memphis) after a four-year pit stop in Montana. Long story – another show in the making! Paul has worked for the New Conservatory Theatre Center, Role Players Ensemble, Idiot String, SF Playhouse, Fools Fury Theatre Company, and The Eugene O’Neill Foundation since landing in the Bay Area. Paul builds scenery for the New Conservatory Theatre Center and works as a teaching artist for SF Youth Theatre! He earned an M.F.A. in Acting from CSU, Fullerton. Paul would like to thank his wonderful friends and family who have given him constant support and love. He dedicates all his creative endeavors to the spirit of his beloved sister, Layla.
